Hi,
Hermin1 maybe you or someone else can help me.
In a previous post I see that you mention Samuel Stone as the only surviving sibling to Nancy Wapaha(?) up in Sisseton. Or that Mahpiyawastewin as only surviving sibling.
Could you tell me where it states this, where I can get a copy.
My childrens grandmother has/had land descended from Mahpiyawastewin up in Sisseton, but they did not know how it came about. They do have a grandfather Samuel Stone/Tukanwakanna. Did it list Samuels Dakota name anywhere in a probate/testimony for his sister?

ok, I figured some of it out from your post before. Julia Stones siblings are as you posted.... Mahpiyawastewin Samuel Stone Horpikasnasnawin Hake Mniocagewin Pakudiyaya Sinkpe Now is that Sinkpe Joseph Redwing?  Or a different Sinkpe. Thanks, Sara |

Nancy wapaha was both of them's niece. Nancy Myrick- Wapaha's mother was JUlia Stone(not therone married to Samuel). these were my notes from testimony by Nancy Wapaha at this Nancy Marpiyawastewin's estate hearing. I was under theimpression that you already had Samuel Stone's probate papers. Nowhere in what I copied ,did it say what Samuel Stone's Indian name was. I believe this was in the Stone file at First Nations Outreach Center in Sioux city. Call there( 712-252-3621) and ask for a copy of the testimony. Also check in the document exchang esection and see if anything on her or Nacny wapaha or Samuel stone is listed. Then write to the people andask for a copy. According to Testimony given at Santee, Sam for a while( @ 2-3 yers) lived at sisseton, after he and Susan were first livng as man and wife. When he returned to Santee, they got married by ceremony. Samuel Hinman and Mary Myrick- 1883
Daniel Westerman and Mary Hinman- 1892
John Wapaha and Nancy Wakute- 1895
Oliver Rouillard and Mary Westerman- 1910 (license, no marriage)
John Green and Mary Westerman- 1916
Iapi article for-
Thomas Wakute and Nancy Myrick marriage- 1879.

Danile Westerman aka Daniel goodthunder Age 33 Parents Westerman(White Man) deceased, and Hapanzidan-deceased. Ref.: 1902 Santee Census). the 1887 Santee Census lists him at age 19 years, with his Grandmother Tawicin(aka Linda lawrence) Age 72. According tot he Flandreau church Records page 67, he is listed with his Grandmother Tawicin, Mary Westerman(d/o fof Rev. Hinman and Mary Myrick), and son Francis Westerman , born July 21,1892. If you go to www.rootsweb.com and select the World connect Project link, then type in Andrew Jacksn Myrick, you should come up with his tree, and by clicking on the names mentioned for him, you will find the informtion for Nancy Myrick, and her daughters. then type in Rev.
